In January 1992 American publisher Gladstone launched the »Carl Barks Library of Walt Disney's Comics and Stories in Color« (CBLC-WDC), an ambitious project aimed at publishing all WDC stories by Barks in 51 colored albums. In August 1992 followed 2 albums with the collected Scrooge one-pagers (CBLC-USOP), in December 1992 a special issue with all Firestone giveaways (CBLC-FCG), and since February 1993 all Gyro stories were reprinted in a 6-volume series (CBLC-GG). In February 1994 Gladstone began to publish the long Donald adventures in 25 albums (CBLC-DDA), and in January 1996 a 56-volume series with the long Scrooge adventures (CBLC-USA) was launched, which was finished in late 1998, right in time for the expiration of the Disney license.
Gladstone mostly reprinted the comic material from the hard-bound Carl Barks Library (CBL), with carefully done computer coloring and selected texts from the CBL added. This chapter lists all stories, covers, and essays which were published in the CBL in Color.
Note: All issues of CBLC-WDC contained a trading card; issue 51 was accompanied by an aditional bonus trading card. Trading cards 1 through 4 were randomly shuffled among issues 1 through 4 for newsstand distribution, the same is true for trading cards 5 through 8 and issues 5 through 8. CBLC-DDA and CBLC-USA also had trading cards which are not included here, however, since they in all cases refer to the story published in the accompanying volume.
