The Halloween paintings

»Trick or Treat« (DD 26/2), the title story of the first issue of the regular Donald Duck series, was based on the animated cartoon of the same title and came to fame for being the most heavily censored Barks story. Barks rendered the cover in oil 2 times.

»Trick or Treat«

»Student Witch«

This painting, which Barks created for a cover of Funnyworld magazine, contains a character from DD 26/2, namely the monster Smorgasbord, but since all his appearances had been censored away in the first publication the image was not affected by Disney copyright.
